On September 8, 2021, I was honored to join a star-studded panel hosted by the National Harm Reduction Coalition for the launch of award-winning journalist Maia Szalavitz’s new book on the history of harm reduction, entitled Undoing Drugs: The Untold Story of Harm Reduction and the Future of Addiction. I spoke about the foundational role of maintenance prescribing for the movement and participated in a lively discussion about the present and future political strategy for ending the prohibitionist War on people and advancing self-determined drug user health.

On July 21, 2021, I was live interviewed by award-winning journalist Brian Lehrer for a segment of the daily The Brian Lehrer show, entitled “Why Fentanyl Is Ending Up in More Street Drugs.” I was able to introduce the political demand of safe supply in what seems to be its first appearance on the radio show that is known to reach the largest and most diverse audience than any other show.

On July 21, 2021, just minutes after finishing on The Brian Lehrer Show, I was interviewed by journalist Nomiki Konst, a former NYC public advocate candidate and Bernie surrogate, on The Nomiki Show regarding my scoop published in The Intercept on how one bureaucratic questionnaire stands to impede the work low-barrier opioid use disorder treatment and traumatize its vulnerable patients.
