Living in New York City, Sessi freelance reports on cops, courts, and incarceration for publications including The Appeal, VICE, In These Times, and Scalawag Magazine. She is currently a staff writer at FILTER, an online magazine dedicated to covering drugs, harm reduction, and the drug war.

In 2018, she graduated cum laude from Vassar College with a degree in philosophy and women’s studies.
